  • Grand Ridge caps off perfect season with conference championship

    The Grand Ridge Lady Indians capped off a perfect season last Friday when they took the Conference Championship by winning in two sets over Cottondale to advance to the championship game. They beat Roulhac in two sets to claim the CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP! In the first round of the conference games, Grand Ridge defeated Roulhac a 25-10 and a 25-12 to set up a match with Cottondale.     The Sneads Lady Pirates are district champs and what a ride it has been. The team was hungry for a championship and it showed in every game. They last claimed the district 1A District 2 title three years ago but this year, they were in it to win it from the very first game of the season.   • Lady Bulldogs claim district championship

    The Marianna High School Lady Bulldogs are district champs for the fifth time in eight years. They have twice been runner up with seven of eight appearances in the playoffs under veteran coach Scott Wiggins.   • Marianna JV takes win over Malone in baseball

    The Malone junior varsity baseball team traveled to Marianna last week to take on the Bulldogs and left with a 7-4 loss.  Spencer Floyd was on the mound for the Tigers and took the loss, giving up seven runs, just three of those earned on three walks, six hits, and three costly errors. Floyd sat seven Bulldogs down on strikes with three of those in a row in the third and fourth innings.  Brady Donaldson got the starting nod on the mound for the Bulldogs and picked up the win. […]
