    Everyone following Jackson County sports knows that Graceville softball has had its struggles this year, but they have given 100% every game and every practice. Friday night, the proof was in the pudding that hard work and a few key hits pays off when they won 14-6 over the Malone Lady Tigers.  Malone went on offense first and picked up one run.   • Chipola basketball finishes second in the state

    The Chipola Indians basketball team finished out their season 22-8, with a 2-1 run in the state championship games. They opened the state tournament with a solid 77-65 win over Eastern Florida State College in the very first game of the tournament. They then handed St. Petersburg College a 93-72 defeat before facing off against panhandle conference foe, the Northwest Florida State Raiders.   • Marianna wins tournament with 14-0 win over Franklin County

    The Marianna Lady Bulldogs had a goal in mind when they gave up their weekend time to participate in a softball tournament. They outscored their opponents 44-4 in the four games, with three of those shutout games. Chloe Temples, Ashlyn Weirman, and Anni Beebe took control of the games in the circle and the offense did the rest.  In the final game, it was Chloe Temples going the distance, giving up no runs on one hit and one walk while fanning an even 10 batters of the 17 she faced.  […]

  • Lady Pirates perfect in tournament with four wins - Take 16-13 win over Paxton in final game

    The Sneads Lady Pirates completed their four-game tournament with a slugfest Saturday afternoon, winning 16-13 against Paxton.      No hitters, one hitters, are second nature to junior Chloe Temples who is the ace for Marianna softball. Coach Scott Wiggins is quick to give credit to his team, “They make me look good.
